The anticipated salary range for this role is between $185,000.00 and $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

JOB SUMMARY:
As the Head of Product and Cash Management, you will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of treasury and cash management solutions tailored to the needs of regional and mid-market businesses. This role is critical in enhancing the bank’s competitive position, expanding and deepening client relationships, and driving non-interest income growth. You will work closely with commercial banking teams, operations, and technology partners to ensure the bank delivers efficient, secure, and innovative treasury services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Strategy & Execution
• Develop and manage a comprehensive suite of treasury products including payments, receivables, liquidity management, fraud prevention, and digital banking tools.
• Align product offerings with the bank’s strategic goals and the unique needs of regional business clients.
• Lead product lifecycle management, including ideation, development, pricing, and performance tracking.
Client-Centric Innovation
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and deliver customized treasury solutions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on treasury trends, best practices, and risk mitigation.
• Drive adoption of digital channels and self-service tools to enhance client experience.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
• Partner with Operations, IT, and Compliance to ensure treasury products are delivered efficiently, securely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Implement strong controls and governance around treasury services, including fraud prevention and transaction monitoring.
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and mentor a team of treasury product managers and specialists.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the bank in industry forums and regional business communities.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
• MBA or professional certification preferred
• 10+ years of experience in treasury management, product development, or commercial banking, preferably within a regional or community bank.
• Strong understanding of treasury operations, digital banking platforms, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
