The anticipated salary range for this role is between $186,000.00 and $210,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc. is a member of the Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), one of the world's largest global financial institutions. Based in New York City, we are an SEC registered Broker dealer that provides financial products and services to global institutional clients, focusing on North America and Latin America. 

 
The Securities Operations Group within SMBC Nikko Securities America, Inc. is seeking a Director level candidate to manage the Trade Processing Team.  The role reports to the Head of Security Operations. 

The primary office location for this position can be either in Jersey City, NJ or in White Plains, NY.

Role Objectives: Delivery

  • Manage Trade Processing team which supports all Fixed Income and Equity businesses in Nikko Securities 
  • Act as primary Operations faceoff for key Front Office stakeholders 
  • Ensure team acts as primary control for all transactional data quality on trade date with specific focus on end of day validation and completeness checks 
  • Act as a liaison for front office and the rest of Nikko Operations 
  • Proactive management and timely escalation of emerging risks/issues to relevant stakeholders and senior management 
  • Coordinate across asset classes (i.e. swap dealer) where necessary  
  • Proactive mitigation of risk by reviewing and strengthening procedures and identifying opportunities for process enhancement 
  • Collaboration with relevant stakeholders (including but not limited to Front Office, Technology, Compliance and Risk) to deliver against targeted business strategies and initiatives  
  • Initiate and assist with projects/enterprises related to enhancing current processes and controls

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services  

  • 10+ years of experience managing, preferably a Middle Office 

  • BA/BS preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics 

  • MBA is a plus  

  • Proficiency in Bloomberg TOMS, Pershing Netx360, or Broadridge IMPACT and ULLINK 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
