This is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to attend our Tralee office.
Role Description
SMBC is seeking a Full Stack .NET Developer to join its Development team in Tralee. The team develops and supports strategic and tactical applications that enable critical business processes across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience across the full technology stack, including web applications, user interfaces, backend services, REST APIs, databases and enterprise application support. Strong experience with C#/.NET, object-oriented programming, Oracle and/or SQL Server databases and complex SQL development is required.
The role will design, develop, enhance and support business applications, workflow solutions and system integrations. Working closely with business users, analysts, architects and development teams, the successful candidate will deliver scalable and reliable solutions within a global financial services environment.
This role will report to the Senior Applications Developer - Business Process Management.
Role Objectives: Delivery
- Design, develop, test and support full stack applications using C#/.NET technologies.
- Develop web applications, user interfaces, RESTful APIs, backend services and workflow solutions.
- Design and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views and database objects.
- Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot application, integration and database issues.
- Provide production support, root cause analysis, system maintenance and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, architects and development teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
- Participate in application design, code reviews, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of full stack software development experience.
- Strong C#/.NET development and object-oriented programming experience.
- Experience developing web applications, user interfaces, RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Strong Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server database experience.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, stored procedures, query optimisation and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, data modelling and database design.
- Experience with application integrations, enterprise systems and application architecture.
- Experience supporting, debugging and troubleshooting production applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and teamwork.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Experience within financial services or banking is preferred.
