Role Description

SMBC is seeking a Senior Database Administrator who has a strong passion for Database Administration and is interested in building a career at a fast growing and reputable Bank. The Senior Database Administrator with at least 7 years of experience specializing in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.  

We maintain a sophisticated and high-performance database environment with a strong emphasis on security and reliability. This role offers both a challenge and a unique opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking infrastructure team. 

 

This role will report to the Executive Director of DBA Group. 

Role Objectives: Delivery

  • Database installation and configuration.
  • Backup and restore procedures.
  • Disaster recovery planning.
  • Replication setup and management.
  • Database security implementation and auditing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced Bash scripting skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a significant advantage. Experience with Elasticsearch, Terraform, Ansible, and a background in Oracle are also beneficial.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a self-motivated and disciplined approach to learning and working.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills when needed.
  • Possess a highly developed sense of personal accountability and follow-through with an ability to effectively prioritize multiple personal tasks, projects, and goals.
