Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Enterprise Risk Management team as an Associate Enterprise Risk. The successful candidate will work closely with the VP of Enterprise Risk and other members of the Risk committee on various projects, including credit risk portfolio analysis, data preparation, cleaning, and analysis, as well as ad hoc reporting tasks and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Risk committee on strategic initiatives and projects to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization.
  • Conduct analysis of credit risk portfolios, including the assessment of credit quality, concentration risk, and portfolio performance.
  • Assist in the preparation, cleaning, and analysis of data to support risk management activities, including stress testing, scenario analysis, and regulatory reporting.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for risk-related reporting tasks, including the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Support the development and enhancement of risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, credit risk analysis, or a related field within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and experience with risk management systems (e.g., Moody's RiskFrontier, SAS Risk Dimensions) is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and risk management practices, particularly in the Canadian financial services industry, is desirable.
