Role Description

Has overall responsibility for managing all aspects of business performance, operations and strategy for a region.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Manage all aspects of business performance, operations and strategy for a region. Set overall strategic direction of the region and ensure optimal organizational structure to deliver against business objectives, while aligning to global objectives as needed. Lead regional management board in making key decisions on corporate strategy, business transactions and risk appetite. Define financial targets across revenues, costs, IBIT, RoTE and capital, and assign ownership of delivery against financial goals across all businesses and functions. Oversee client and product strategies to capitalize on targeted business opportunities. Work with divisional leads to continuously refine product offering. Support sales and relationship management efforts with top clients where required. Navigate a diverse group of stakeholders including employees, clients, management and supervisory boards, external regulators and the press. Position the company favorably and communicate a clear vision of the company's values and ambitions. Support the management of the overarching narrative of the company and foster a culture of performance, innovation, teamwork and integrity.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Balance the needs and expectations of a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including employees, clients, management and supervisory boards, external regulators and the press. Manage personnel decisions in filling key management roles across the region. Maintain robust succession plans for all direct reports and other critical functions. Manage retention issues with key staff to avoid business disruption. Set headcount targets by business in support of cost management. Cultivate an appreciation for diversity and inclusion at all levels of the firm. Build and maintain deep relationships with top clients. Position company favorably to expand relationships and win new business. Mobilize internal resources to support clients' needs. Promote a culture of transparency, accountability and performance throughout the region. Articulate a clear vision for the company both internally and externally and oversee delivery against stated objectives to build credibility and improve public perception. Maintain relationships with external regulators to outline strategic agenda, address emerging themes and areas of risk and respond to regulatory inquiries.
