The anticipated salary range for this role is between $103,000.00 and $155,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned and bilingual eFX Systems Support Analyst with 10+ years of experience supporting trading floor operations and market data systems. The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge of financial markets, particularly in electronic foreign exchange (eFX), and a strong ability to communicate fluently in both Japanese and English. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, responsiveness, and professionalism in a fast-paced trading environment.

Role Objectives

- Provide Level 1 and 2 support for eFX trading platforms and market data systems.
- Install, upgrade, and deploy internal and external tools to front-office users.
- Monitor and troubleshoot eFX application platforms and market data services.
- Review and analyze market data service usage and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain accurate inventories and control entitlement workflows.
- Train users and document technical and functional procedures.
- Manage incident and change reporting with sufficient detail for audit compliance.
- Collaborate with peers and management to improve monitoring and communication tools.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in IT support within financial services, with a focus on trading floor operations.
- Fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) is required.
- Strong understanding of eFX platforms, market data applications, and trading systems.
- Hands-on experience with Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, ICE Link, and other trading platforms.
- Excellent troubleshooting, performance analysis, and incident/change management skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and urgency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Deep understanding of the financial markets business domain, including fixed income, FX, and credit products.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting FX trading desks and electronic trading platforms.
- Familiarity with Fed/Taaps, RiskVal, Yieldbook, and other analytics tools.
 
Education:
- B.S. in Computer Software Engineering or related field.
- Associate degree in English or equivalent bilingual education background.
