You will lead the creation of our event driven architecture required for data-driven reporting pipelines, transitioning legacy interfaces into a unified, cloud-centric mesh. Your strategic oversight will cover real-time event fabrics (Apache Kafka/Amazon MSK),  and cloud-native lakehouses (Databricks). •    Govern the Real-Time Event Fabric: Own the design patterns for our globally distributed, cloud-centric Apache Kafka pub-sub architecture, overseeing partition design, event-sourcing strategies, and high-volume stream topologies.
•    Architect API & Hybrid Connectivity: Guide the deployment of containerized services as our primary enterprise integration layer, establishing API gateway standards, contract-first design policies, and secure microservices orchestration patterns.
•    Drive Cross-Domain Data Reporting & Analytics: Design high-throughput transactional and analytics pipelines, enabling seamless real-time operational reporting for Front Office trading, Middle Office risk calculation, and Back Office settlement desks.

Qualifications and Skills

•    Experience: 15+ years of enterprise architecture experience within Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or Global Financial Institutions, with deep exposure across FOMOBO environments.
•    Mastery of Streaming & Pub-Sub Architecture: Expert-level knowledge of Apache Kafka (or Amazon MSK) deployed on public cloud environments (AWS/Azure). Must understand schema registry governance, cluster federation, and performance optimization for extreme scale.
•    API Management & ESB Expertise: Proven track record of managing enterprise-wide API deployments and enterprise service bus (ESB) workflows using Mulesoft or comparable high-performance API platforms.
•    Cloud-Centric Analytics and Data Platforms:
o    Extensive production architecture experience designing lakehouse foundations on Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables).
o    In-depth understanding of standard OLTP engines (PostgreSQL, Aurora) and cloud OLAP database patterns (Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks Serverless SQL).
•    Data-Driven Insight Systems: Experience structuring complex data schemas to simultaneously satisfy low-latency operational reporting and long-tail regulatory or trend analytics.
Preferred Strategic Skills
•    Strong familiarity with global financial regulations and data privacy frameworks impacting trading data.
•    Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect, or Databricks Certified Enterprise Architect.
•    Active experience driving large-scale digital transformation initiatives or moving monolithic banking systems to cloud-native event meshes.
