The anticipated salary range for this role is between $155,854.00 and $199,500.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Objectives

  • Support Chief Operating Officer (COO) organization with Firmwide project management related activities including acting as Project Manager, coordinating meetings and steering committees, status reporting, issue tracking, and resource management.
  • Lead management reporting, periodic review and monitoring for material projects, deep involvement in critical projects requiring special attention. Provide project governance as listed in group's procedure and guide project managers throughout project lifecycle from Initiation to Closure.
  • Provide governance and oversight into Billing & Delivery activities, act as first line of defense, review status updates for completeness, consistency, and severity alignment.
  • Own and maintain tools and artifacts, chair and coordinate the working group meeting.
  • Provide vendor management support by working on contracts, onboard consultants, and any other vendor related tasks.
  • Manage and be a gatekeeper of IT project prioritization process with help of a supervisor. Including but not limited to reviewing new items, cleaning up the master list, maintaining project management registration tool, communicating with IT (Business Management).
  • Serve as a primary contact of Enterprise management information from the firm. Including but not limited to catching up with the new updates on the policy, making sure the firm comply with it and guide project managers. Produce high quality workflow diagrams, dashboards, documents, and presentations for reviewing key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and host meetings, write up the meeting minutes and track action. Embrace and adapt new technologies to increase efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, finance, technology, or a related field and 7 years of experience in project and/or business management and senior management reporting.
  • The employer will accept a single degree or any combination of education, experience, or professional credentials determined to be equivalent by a qualified evaluation service.
  • Required skills: Project Management; Business Analysis; Documentation & Management Reporting; Issue Resolution; Experience working in financial services environment; experience working on projects supporting Fixed Income and Equities product; Experience working on system application supporting middle and back office.   
  • The required skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience.
