The anticipated salary range for this role is between $57,000.00 and $95,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
The Senior Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative, clerical, and organizational support to the General Manager of the Securitized Products & Capital Solutions Group, as well as to other senior executives and team members. This role is critical to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, effective communication, and coordination across regions and stakeholders.
Role Objectives
- Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings across multiple international offices and time zones, and coordinate internal and external appointments for General Manager, senior executives and team members.
- Coordinate international and domestic travel, including flights, hotels and car services as required; prepare itineraries and secure visas where applicable.
- Process and submit expense reports and approvals in accordance with firm policies.
- Prepare, edit, and format correspondence and materials for internal and external use.
- Support planning and execution of meetings, events, and offsites, including logistics and materials preparation.
- Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and external counterparties, ensuring timely and professional communication.
- Provide general administrative and office support as needed to support business operations and team effectiveness.
- Coordinate effectively with other administrative assistants across SPCS and the broader firm.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-10 years of experience in an executive assistant or senior administrative support role.
- Prior experience in a financial institution or professional services environment is preferred, but not required.
- Experience supporting senior executives and/or teams within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Ability to work effectively with global teams and manage competing priorities across regions.
- Fluent in both English and Japanese.
