The anticipated salary range for this role is between $250,000.00 and $275,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
SMBC Capital Markets, Inc. is seeking an experienced derivatives marketer with strong fund relationships to join the private-side Sponsor Risk Solutions team in New York covering US clients. The role requires strong leadership, analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative spirit to effectively cover SMBC fund clients, expand relationships and cross-sell. Candidate should be prepared to spend considerable time travelling to visit customers throughout North America
Role Objectives: Delivery
- Manage and develop new and existing fund client relationships.
- Responsible for the origination, pricing and execution of derivative transactions.
- Provide leadership to junior team members and take ownership of projects that enhance the development of the team and Fund FX business.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills (written and verbal), analytical and creative thinking, to provide valued added solutions to customers.
- Work collaboratively with bankers, product partners, credit and legal to onboard clients and establish credit lines.
- Direct engagement with customers through frequent calls, video conferences and in-person meetings.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting to management and have expert knowledge of the regulatory and compliance framework.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 8 years of derivatives sales experience marketing FX solutions to US based funds.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Math, Science, Engineering; MBA/MA/MS preferred.
- Proven track record covering fund counterparties and leading complex and innovative hedging transactions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to clearly organize and articulate business strategy.
- Exhibit self-drive and resourcefulness while taking personal ownership of strategic projects.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated strategic and creative thinking.
- Highly collaborative spirit working in a team-oriented environment with an ability to form trusted professional relationships, both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Bloomberg.
- Series 7, 79, 63 preferred
