The anticipated salary range for this role is between $193,000.00 and $230,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Americas Division Control Office, Analytics and Governance role will support the Control Office management team by designing and maintaining management dashboards, tools, documentation and procedures, managing data, developing management reporting, performing trend analysis, and providing written analysis and commentary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities are described herein:
- Provide application development, including testing, writing testing scripts, performing maintenance and BAU tasks, resolving user issues, and delivering user training, demos, and guides.
- Work with data owners to identify relevant information to be included in management reporting; maintain strong data governance and business documentation processes.
- Assist in sourcing, managing and analyzing data, maintaining and optimizing spreadsheets, and preparing insightful reports to guide decision-making.
- Develop and maintain documentation and procedures
- Assist with preparing presentation materials and commentary related to control activities for various governance forums.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and business requirements.
- Support the broader Control Office team with data analysis and management, reporting, presentations, and providing demos as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ year experience in data management, data analytics, trend analysis and report production.
- Working knowledge of governance structures and experience interacting with senior management within a business environment.
- Working knowledge of process and control design, including process mapping and process reengineering.
- Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and time management ability.
- Knowledge of the banking and markets business and products.
- Expertise in PowerBI, Python, Tableau, Visio, Copilot, and other MS applications required
