The anticipated salary range for this role is between $225,000.00 and $225,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is hiring a Vice President in the Collateral Management Group within the Securitized Products and Capital Solutions (SPCS) Department. The collateral requiring analysis, grading, and coverage supports lending to asset manager customers
Role Objectives
The VP will be responsible for providing primary credit analysis and coverage of Project Finance collateral in the portfolio, and additional coverage of middle-market loans as needed. Responsibilities include the preparation of new credit requests (including fundamental analysis of the company and industry, financial analysis and projections), managing upsize requests, and preparing analysis for reevaluation events as needed. Will serve as the primary point person in the dialogue with counterparts at accounts assigned for collateral coverage. VPs are tasked with reviewing the work of junior team members. Responsibilities also include the review of collateral loan portfolio reports to monitor and address the performance of assigned portfolios.
Qualifications and Skills
- Broad knowledge of Project Finance is essential.
- 5-7 years of comparable or relevant experience
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Project Finance market and trends
- Middle Market leveraged lending credit experience is a plus
- Highly collaborative and flexible in a team environment. Able to coordinate and communicate with various internal departments across the bank (origination, middle/back office, credit, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organizes thoughts and clearly articulates points, both verbally and in writing, to management or other internal departments.
- Software Systems / Programming Languages - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Bloomberg, Capital IQ.
