The anticipated salary range for this role is between $152,000.00 and $176,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Description
Position Summary:
The Onboarding & Implementation Specialist for Cash Management is responsible for leading end to end client onboarding, solution implementation, and operational transition for treasury and cash management products. This role acts as a primary liaison between clients, internal stakeholders, and product partners to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, timely execution, and high-quality service delivery.
This individual leverages deep knowledge of cash management products, banking operations, and project management methodologies to drive client satisfaction and accelerate revenue enablement.
Role Objectives: Delivery
Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding & Implementation
- Lead the full lifecycle of client onboarding for cash management services, including documentation, platform setup, technical integrations, and product activation
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions with clients to understand treasury workflows, payment needs, reporting structures, and integration requirements
- Customize implementation plans tailored to client complexity, size, and product suite
- Coordinate account opening, product configuration (ACH, wires, lockbox, liquidity, receivables, FX, fraud tools), and digital platform access
- Collection and validation of client documentation and product setup forms
Project Management & Execution
- Serve as project manager for complex client implementations, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met within agreed timelines
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination with operations, compliance, product, technology, and relationship management teams
- Monitor project risks and escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely resolution
- Track progress through standardized project plans, dashboards, and reporting tools
Client Engagement & Communication
- Act as the central point of contact throughout the onboarding process, setting expectations and providing proactive updates
- Deliver training sessions on cash management platforms, reporting tools, and product functionality
- Support clients through testing cycles, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-implementation validation
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline onboarding processes, documentation workflows, and integration efficiency
- Partner with product and operations teams to improve tools, templates, and automation.
- Maintain subject matter expertise on cash management product offerings, digital capabilities, and industry best practices
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk controls

- 7–10 years of experience in treasury/cash management onboarding, implementation, client service, or related banking functions
