The anticipated salary range for this role is between $73,000.00 and $95,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The Corporate Banking Analyst will support the Corporate Banking team in achieving program success by managing key administrative and operational tasks, facilitating strategic initiatives, and maintaining effective communication channels. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Role Objectives: Delivery

General Program Management Support:

  • Prepare slides and presentations for client meetings and internal reviews.
  • Monitor status updates, action items, and program deliverables.
  • Track and manage program RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).

Program Planning:

  • Assist with logistics in program events, meeting arrangement and coordination, and project document management

Contingent Worker Administration Management:

  • Centralize the tracking and management of contingent worker activities, including training, onboarding, timecards, and contract schedules.

Communication Facilitation:

  • Schedule meetings to ensure the timely follow-up of action items.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to address and resolve program-level blockers.

Knowledge Management Support:

  • Organize and maintain documents across Teams and other collaborative platforms.
  • Ensure platforms like Confluence are up-to-date with relevant schedules and program information.

Issue and Risk Management:

  • Track and resolve program risks and issues to closure.
  • Identify potential risks early and propose actionable solutions to mitigate them.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Seek out opportunities to raise profile with senior executive by providing timely, high quality support on strategic deliverables. Improve visibility with senior executive's direct reports through regular engagement and timely handling of ad hoc queries and requests. Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues across several key infrastructure functions, including communications, HR, legal, compliance, finance and corporate strategy. Develop infrastructure relationships to promote collaboration on a variety of topics and facilitate efficient execution of deliverables. Align with counterparts in other business verticals or regions to identify emerging themes, share best practice and collaborate on common objectives.

Role Objectives: Expertise

Demonstrate an awareness of strategic agenda through consistent, high quality delivery against management objectives. Act as first line of defense for owners of strategic deliverables and their teams to offer support and clarification where required. Escalate potential issues or disputes to chief of staff for further review and handling. Apply communication skills to draft compelling written and oral communications for senior executive. Prepare crisp speaker notes ahead of stakeholder engagements with clients, regulators, management board members and the press. Draw on network of internal colleagues across a variety of support functions, as well as counterparts in other business units or regions, to facilitate delivery of everyday responsibilities and promote collaboration.

Qualifications and Skills

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Confluence is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
