Role Description

Reporting to the Director of Analytics and Governance in the Business Control Office, Americas Division, the Business Analytics Associate will perform detailed analytics work in an independent fashion and support a broad range of tasks related to data management, reporting, documentation, and application development and support routines. This includes executing various application support tasks, such as testing, writing testing scripts, performing maintenance and BAU tasks, resolving user issues, and delivering user training, demos, and guides. This role will also assist in the generation, maintenance and enhancement of monthly reports, scorecards, presentations, newsletters, and dashboards, and will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing risk and control-related data and contents to generate meaningful insights, management summaries, and commentaries, while maintaining strong documentation.

 

  • Assist in sourcing, managing and analyzing data, maintaining and optimizing spreadsheets, and preparing insightful reports to guide decision-making.                                                                                                                         
  • Provide application development support, including testing, writing testing scripts, performing maintenance and BAU tasks, resolving user issues, and delivering user training, demos, and guides.   
  • Maintain strong data governance and business documentation processes.                                                                                                                             
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and business requirements                                                                                                                  
  • Assist with preparing presentation materials and commentary related to risk and control activities for business management and governance purposes                                                                                                                
  • Support the broader Control Office team with data analysis and management, reporting, presentations, and providing demos as needed.                                                                                                                       
  • Assist with coordination, documenting, information gathering, and follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with maintaining and enhancing existing dashboards, tools, and applications                                                                                             

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in a business analysis, business management, analytics, data governance, or risk management role.                                                                                                                           
  • Working knowledge of governance structures and experience interacting with management within a business environment.                                                                                                                    
  • Team player with excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with ability to hit the ground running and work independently with limited supervision.                                                                                                                           
  • Good skills in Microsoft products including Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts), PowerPoint (senior management-level presentation skills), and Word (business requirements and formal documentation skills).                                                                                                                   
  • Working experience of workflow and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Problem solving skills, willingness to learn, strong sense of work ownership, strong attention to details, and ability to handle a vast array of information.        
  • Financial Services experience and knowledge of the banking and markets businesses and products is a plus.
  • Working experience in SQL, MS Power Platform, Alteryx or Dataiku is prefered.
