The anticipated salary range for this role is between $169,541.00 and $195,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role Objectives
- Work on analysis, design, and development of the data platform, beginning with the establishment of a reference data system for securities and pricing data, and later moving to other data domains.
- Work with business teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, needs, or process gaps that would be addressed via proposed applications.
- Engage with IT systems architects, database administrators, and cyber security team to meet the back-end functionality demands of the application.
- Partner with graphic artists, user interface designers and front-end engineers to create the front-end interface of the application and optimize user experience.
- Liaise with other technology and development teams as needed to coordinate on the integration of applications with the larger company software ecosystem.
- Participate in periodic development meetings to align development priorities and objectives, assign tasks, and share experiences and challenges with applications under development.
Hybrid remote work permitted.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience. Special Skills: Python Programming; Azure Databricks; Spark, Polars and Pandas Python frameworks/libraries; Fixed Income and Equities reference, operational and risk data; ETL/ELT streaming and batch loads using Azure data factory and Azure event hub; Dev Ops and Resiliency Management; and build resilient data distribution via APIs and micro services.
- The required skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience.
