The anticipated salary range for this role is between $238,000.00 and $265,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned technology leader to lead our financial reporting technology function, responsible for delivering and managing Oracle ERP-based solutions – primarily Oracle Fusion Cloud and the financial reporting ecosystem– for Americas division of SMB. The candidate is expected to bring deep expertise in enterprise finance systems and accounting data flows, with E2E experience from upstream data sources to General Ledger and from GL into downstream platforms supporting financial reporting, analytics, and regulatory needs. This role requires a strategic leader who can bridge Finance and technology, ensuring robust integration, controls, scalability, and agility across core financial processes including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, financial consolidation, and reporting.

 

This role reports to the Executive Director, Head of Regulatory Reporting and Finance Technology, within GRC technology. 

 

Role Objectives

•    Own the technology strategy for Oracle ERP cloud (Fusion) and its integration with the wider finance architecture. 
•    Lead design, delivery, and ongoing operation of modules including GL, FAH, AR, AP, Cash Management, and Fixed Assets.
•    Oversee and integrate FCCS (Consolidation), ARCS (Account Reconciliation), Smart View (Reporting/ Analysis) and OIC (integrations). 
•    Design and manage Oracle FAH (Financial Accounting Hub) architecture, event models and accounting rules.
•    Define and ensure compliance with data governance, financial controls, and audit requirements. 
•    Drive upgrades, patching cycles, disaster recovery plans, and roadmap planning in collaboration with internal stakeholders, Oracle, and third-party vendors.
•    Ensure seamless downstream data flows from the GL into platforms supporting regulatory reporting, analytics, financial control, and manual processes. 
•    Partner with financial controllers and data management teams to deliver a cohesive finance technology strategy aligned with business goals.
•    Provide leadership and oversight to internal technical teams and external vendors across multiple concurrent projects.
•    Drive execution through strong program and project management – ensuring quality, budget control, and timely delivery.
•    Oversee production support and operational stability, lead incident management, root cause analysis, and service improvements.
•    Champion process improvement, automation, and standardization across finance technology platforms.

Qualifications and Skills

•    10+ years of experience in Finance Technology, including at least 5 years working with Oracle Fusion cloud ERP.
•    Strong understanding of accounting and financial data flows from source systems through the General Ledger and into reporting environments. 
•    Demonstrated experience integrating SaaS ERP with legacy on-prem systems and cloud data platforms (Azure preferred). 
•    Also responsible for the development/ enhancement/ support of upstream/ downstream integrations (incl. pre-processing, netting etc.). 
•    Expertise in financial data architecture, reconciliation processes, and financial close cycles.
•    Strong program/ project management skills with a record of delivering complex, enterprise-scale initiatives.
•    Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a proven ability to work across business and technology teams.
•    Financial services or banking industry experience is highly preferred.
