The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $227,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

We are looking for experienced professionals in Capital Markets Quality Assurance with a strong background in front office and operations technology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in functional testing with exposure to trading systems, trade lifecycle, booking, and settlements platforms.

Role Objectives

•    Build out a QA team to support the front, middle and back office systems.
•    Identify and build a strategy for testing, test automation, defect tracking and integrated testing.
•    Understand business requirements and define test strategies/plans for applications.
•    Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, test backups, and other QA artifacts.
•    Build out QA workflow to ensure controls and effectiveness are in place.
•    Execute test scripts via automation tools.
•    Conduct smoke/sanity tests using automation for test readiness.
•    Identify regression cases and participate in developing test suites.
•    Perform integration, regression, compatibility, and user acceptance testing phases.
•    Develop utilities to enhance QA efficiencies.
•    Participate in daily Agile standups, iteration planning, product demos, and application walkthroughs.
•    Maintain and track test deliverables in test management tools.
•    Collaborate with business and development teams to deliver work items without ambiguity.
•    Replicate production defects in lower environments.

Qualifications and Skills

•    10-12 years of professional experience in delivering large multifunctional projects.
•    Extensive experience in designing and executing test cases for GUI testing, functionality, regression, and integration testing.
•    Good understanding and analysis of business requirements and functional specifications.
•    In-depth domain knowledge in capital markets and front office processes & systems.
•    Ability to work with total commitment towards teamwork.
•    Able to work independently with clients, BAs, and project teams spread across various locations.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•    Prior functional testing experience with a minimum of 7+ years.
•    Strong functional and application testing skillset.
•    Ability to review and understand complex concepts at a detailed level.
•    Expertise in creating and maintaining test sets for complex application workflows.
•    Proficiency with different automation tools and capability of executing test cases via automation tools.
•    Experience working in a distributed team environment.
•    Good problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
•    Knowledge in writing SQL queries.
•    Proficiency with scripting, Python, Java
•    Strong practical experience using Scrum, Agile modeling, and adaptive software development.
•    Hands-on experience with test management tools and defect tracking tools like Jira, RTC, etc.

Preferred Experience:
•    Experience working with Capital Markets products like Fixed Income, Equities, Structured Products –Derivatives, Repos, Securities Lending, Secondary Loan Trading spanning from Front office to Back office including Risk and Finance.
•    QA coordinator with a proven track record of stakeholder engagement and management.
•    Hands-on experience in test strategy, test planning, test estimation, test execution, and defect management.
