Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server DBA Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SQL Server platform administration, high availability and disaster recovery solutions, database security, cloud technologies, automation, and operational support within mission-critical environments. This position will be located in Charlotte, NC office. You will work in a fast-paced environment to provide support to the trading business for Front/Middle/Back office.

Role Objectives

•    Provide expert administration and support for SQL Server 2019, SQL Server 2022, and SQL Server 2025 environments across on-premises virtual machines, Microsoft Azure, and AWS platforms.
•    Install, configure, patch, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL Server environments running on Windows-based virtual machines.
•    Manage and support Azure SQL Database (PaaS), Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Virtual Machines, AWS RDS and AWS EC2 SQL Server ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
•    Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server technologies including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
•    Design, implement, and support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions utilizing SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and related replication technologies.
•    Manage and support database backups, recovery processes, failover testing, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives within mission-critical environments.
•    Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for SQL Server administration, monitoring, patching, reporting, and operational tasks. 
•    Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports for database health, compliance, capacity planning, performance metrics, and operational reporting. 

Qualifications and Skills

 Hands-on experience with Ansible automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and operational standardization. 
•    Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) for incident management, problem management, change management, request fulfillment, and workflow automation.
•    Develop and implement database security controls including authentication, authorization, access management, encryption, security monitoring, auditing, and compliance requirements.
•    Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and operations teams to support database migrations, upgrades, patching, modernization initiatives, and production support activities.
•    Partner with Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure adherence to security standards, regulatory requirements, audit controls, and internal policies.
•    Participate in periodic Technology Recovery (TR) and Disaster Recovery (DR) testing activities and provide support through on-call rotation.
•    Support planned maintenance activities including installations, patching, upgrades, migrations, and system maintenance, which may require evening and weekend work.
•    Work effectively within a hybrid work environment and be available onsite as required by organizational policy and business needs.
