Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Data governance tools test lead who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for enterprise data governance tool platforms including Collibra Data Quality, Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, Power BI and ServiceNow. This role ensures that solutions meet business requirements, comply with data governance standards, and deliver a seamless user experience before production deployment.

Role Objectives

Collaborate with data governance, business, and technology stakeholders to understand testing requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, QA teams, and product owners to validate requirements.
Develop comprehensive Test strategy, test plans, and acceptance criteria aligned with business objectives for Data Governance tool platforms.
Create detailed test cases, test scenarios and automated test cases for Data Governance tools ecosystem.
Develop and maintain automated tests where feasible (UI, API, batch processes) for all Data Governance tool eco system.
Act as primary liaison between business users and technical teams during testing.
Manage test environments, data setup, and testing tools used for Data Governance tool platforms
Execute Tests for different cycles, log defects, and track resolution.
Facilitate Office Hours, workshops and UAT sign-off and provide clear reporting on test progress and outcomes.
Identify and escalate risks impacting Testing timelines or quality.
Maintain detailed documentation for traceability, audit and compliance purposes.
Ensure coverage for data governance, data quality rules, workflows, and integrations.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, enterprise data governance. and SDLC standards.

Role Objectives

•    10+ years in UAT or QA roles, with at least 5 years in a lead capacity.
•    Hands-on UAT experience with good understanding of different test methodologies in data management domain. 
•    Demonstrate an understanding of data governance concepts, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
•    Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, XRAY, Zephyr) 
•    Comfortable working with SQL and BI tools to validate data where needed. 
•    Test automation skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript
•    Experience with API testing (REST), using tools such as Postman, SoapUI or similar
•    Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies: functional, integration, regression, UAT, and negative testing. 
•    Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using tools like JIRA, Confluence or similar 
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.; ability to work with complex data and metadata models.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Establish unified testing framework aligned to the Data Governance Testing Manager’s strategy.
•    Support global Data Management Department on testing maturity and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Collibra certifications are a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with integration testing involving ETL tools, APIs, or data lakes.
  • Prior experience in Agile or DevOps environments.

Nice-to-have

  • Direct hands on experience with Collibra Data intelligence platform (Catalog, glossary, workflow, lineage, policies) ,  Collibra Data Quality (rule configuration, monitoring, scorecards).
  • Experience working with “Data.World”, Apache atlas.
  • Working with Data quality automation tools like great expectation, Deequ, SODA etc.

Performance Metrics

  • UAT completion within agreed timelines.
  • Defect leakage rate post-UAT.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction with UAT process and outcomes.
