The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $227,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Collibra Lineage Specialist to join our Data Governance team. This role will focus on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing data lineage within the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform. You will collaborate with data stewards, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure end-to-end visibility into the data lifecycle and enhance data trust across the organization.

Role Objectives

  • Design, implement, and maintain technical and business data lineage using Collibra and associated tools.
  • Configure and manage Collibra integrations with ETL tools, databases, BI platforms (e.g., Informatica, SQL Server, Tableau, etc.).
  • Automate and troubleshoot lineage harvesting and metadata ingestion processes.
  • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and architects to define lineage standards and ensure alignment with governance frameworks.
  • Create lineage visualizations and reports to support regulatory compliance, impact analysis, and data transparency.
  • Maintain metadata models, policies, and data dictionaries within Collibra.
  • Provide ongoing support, documentation, and training to ensure proper adoption of lineage capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working with Collibra, including practical experience with data lineage.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, data governance principles, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Experience with automated lineage tools (e.g., Collibra Lineage Harvester, CDQ, Informatica EDC, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data movement tools and platforms (ETL, ELT, APIs).
  • Strong SQL and data profiling skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Collibra Ranger, Steward, or Lineage certifications.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Prior work in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with data compliance needs.
