Role Description

Monitor, review and perform audits on security lists, access logs, policy compliance reports, and threat detection and quarantine lists. Monitor network traffic for signs of irregular activity that may indicate a breach. Provide incident response and support in the event of a cyber security event. Troubleshoot and remediate any issues and analyze threats once they have been contained.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Oversee monitoring, review and audits on security lists, access logs, policy compliance reports, and threat detection and quarantine lists. Coordinate incident response and support in the event of a cyber security event. Track all issues reported and ensure remediation. Oversee threat analysis and provide a report to cyber security architects. Develop systems to automatically install anti-virus software and monitoring software on machines according to company policy. Ensure any security policy and virus definition updates are applied to client machines in a timely manner. Apply and manage network security and firewall protocols, including maintaining access and denial lists. Perform penetration testing to search for system vulnerabilities.

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Engage with cyber security architects to provide post-incident analysis and make recommendations for updates to the security policy. Partner with IT systems and desktop support teams to manage installation of anti-virus software on company workstations and servers, tracking the policy compliance of all systems. Collaborate with network administrators to apply firewall and infrastructure policy updates and support penetration testing. Work with business units to coordinate and report on training initiatives for cyber security issues, policy and best practices, and how to respond to potential attacks or breaches.

Role Objectives: Expertise

Demonstrate in-depth understanding of cyber security best practices, risk vectors, mitigation techniques and protection software. Maintain knowledge of latest reported threats and trends within the industry. Display advanced knowledge of network security concepts and tools such as firewalls, proxy servers, email security, suspicious traffic flows and penetration testing. Possess excellent analytical skills required for quickly identifying and developing remediation plans for major cyber security incidents and for creating recommendations based on post-incident analysis. Show ability to manage and implement cyber security initiatives such as software and policy updates, deployment of new tools and services, and coordinating end-user trainings.
